Background and Interests
I am originally from Greers
Ferry, Arkansas a small town about three hours west of Memphis
and one and a half hours north of Little Rock. I currently reside in the West
neighborhood in Norfolk,
Virginia after moving from Western New York during the summer of
2017. In my spare time I like
running, reading (literature as well as economics), live music, and travel.
On the ODU campus, Fall 2017
I completed the
Niagara Falls International Marathon (my first) October 21, 2012. I didn't
do as well as I had aspired, but it was a definite learning experience. As
of December 2017 I am registered to run the Shamrock Marathon in March 2018
in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
I like to read fiction for the most part and always have
some book going, my favorite
authors are John Steinbeck, Albert Camus, Bret Ellis, Hunter S.
Thompson, among numerous others.
Below is the announcement from a seminar presentation I gave
at Universidad EAFIT in Medellin Colombia in June 2012. I thought the
announcement that was made for the event was cool, it likely doesn't hurt
that it's in spanish.
